Check out how we engage in
Sustainability
At Wroclaw Fashion Outlet, we believe that sustainability is not an additional initiative - it's fundamental to managing a modern outlet center. Below you will see some of the many actions we take on a daily basis to care for the environment, our guests and support the local community.
LIGHTING, TEMPERATURE AND ECOLOGICAL TRANSPORTATION
ENERGY
DALI CONTROL SYSTEM - LED lighting in Wroclaw Fashion Outlet is controlled using the DALI system. Thanks to this, the light intensity is automatically adjusted to the brightness level and energy consumption is reduced! Optimization sensors are located both inside and outside the center. INTELLIGENT VENTILATION - The amount of fresh air that is forced into the building is also automatically optimized - we adjust it to the current number of people in the center. This is another measure that makes our building energy-efficient and the shopping experience comfortable*.
Since 2022, we have reduced energy intensity by 14%.*
ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION - GreenWay Polska Sp. z o.o.'s charger is one of the most advanced devices available on the market, it allows fast simultaneous charging of three vehicles: two vehicles with direct current (DC) and one with alternating current (AC). It takes up to 40 minutes to charge a 20-40 kW battery, depending on the charge level and battery capacity.
The use of GreenWay chargers is made possible by registering online (at greenwaypolska.pl). Each registered customer receives an RFID card free of charge, as well as access to the Driver Portal and Customer Portal, which enables charging.
OPTIMIZED CONSUMPTION
Water
Did you know…
- Each faucet has touchless faucets with a built-in intelligent motion detection sensor and aerators that limit the water flow to 1.8 liters of water/min (in ordinary faucets this flow can be up to 6l/min!).
- All toilets and urinals in the Center have been equipped with technology that meets the highest standards of the BREEAM In Use certification, allowing for maximum optimization of water consumption.
WE PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT
Our facility is equipped with oil separators. Thanks to them, we separate all pollutants from rainwater from the use and processing of crude oil. In this way, we ensure that the environment in the immediate vicinity is not contaminated!
WE REDUCE
Waste
LESS WASTE GASTRONOMY
Our restaurants and cafes are taking a number of measures to reduce waste. Discover some of them:
- Costa Coffee is partnering with the Too Good To Go app, and Pasibus restaurant is partnering with Foodsi. Both apps connect customers with restaurants that have surplus, unsold food. This allows them to buy packages of wholesome food at attractive prices, and local restaurants throw away less mixed waste.
- Coffee in your own mug means protection for the environment and.... lower price! At our SO!COFFEE cafe, with Kameleon app you will pay 2 zlotys less for a classic coffee - provided you have your own mug.
RECYCLING
Throughout the center, you can easily find waste separation garbage cans divided into plastic, glass, paper and mixed waste. This way, when visiting the center, our guests can take care of responsible waste management together with us!
TOGETHER WE CARE ABOUT
Our Environment
WE TAKE CARE OF THE ECOSYSTEM
In accordance with the standards set by BREEAM In Use, we are using only local plant species in the center's surroundings - so as not to disturb the local ecosystem and landscape. The center is decorated with weeping willow, mountain ash, maples, and eastern laurel, among others. In 2024, 90 trees have been planted around the centre, as well as 5,000 shrubs, flowers, grasses and smaller plants, including herbs.
TOGETHER WITH CUSTOMERS WE PLANTED A FOREST!
In September 2020, we promised you that 1 Wroclaw Fashion Club purchase per day would mean 1 new tree in Wroclaw Osobowice. On April 22, 2021, World Earth Day, we fulfilled this promise. 6,000 maple, linden, elm and oak trees replenished the newly created forest!
WE ACT TOGETHER FOR THE MILLENNIUM PARK
In 2021 in Nowodworki Park Tysiąclecia we planted 10 bird cherry trees and erected 9 insect houses. This is the result of the "Together for the Millennium Park" campaign organized jointly with the Board of Urban Greenery, in which members of the Wrocław Fashion Club loyalty program took part. This is our second project involving the center's customers to improve the biodiversity of Wrocław's green areas!
TOGETHER WE'RE GREENING THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Caring for the environment is in our nature. In recent years, together with the Wrocław Greenery Board, we've greened Granicza Street. Since 2022, every September, for purchases made by our guests as part of the Fashion Club program, we donate funds for planting new trees and shrubs around the Rotmistrz Witold Pilecki Roundabout.
INSTALLING INSECT HOTELS
Insects are the foundation of most ecosystems. While some are responsible for pollination, others help decompose organic waste, which led us to install insect hotels around our center to help maintain the self-sufficiency of our ecosystem.
ECOLOGICAL DESIGN
TEFAL
Tefal has long been committed to eco-friendly solutions, offering products that are friendly to both users and the planet. The new line of ceramic pans - Renew was created in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. They were manufactured from 100% recycled and recyclable aluminum. The pans are packaged in a 90% recycled cardboard box with no plastic or polystyrene added - a reduction of as much as 90% of the environmental impact from factories compared to the production of ordinary pans.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
SOLAR
Solar, in cooperation with Ubrania do Oddania/Clothes to Donate, allows its customers to join the collection of clothes in the store. The collected items will be sorted, and will be recycled or re-circulated. Each kilogram of donated items equals PLN 1, which will benefit the Women's Rights Center Foundation.
QUALITY FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
GIACOMO CONTI
In its Giacomo Conti and Sunset Suits men's fashion collections, the brand is committed to providing customers with environmentally friendly, high-quality clothing. Among other things, the company uses suppliers with certified OEKO-TEX technology, which involves reducing the carbon and water footprint at the production level.
One of the materials used by the brand is modal, which is nearly 90% biodegradable and uses up to 70% less water than other natural fabrics and knits.
THE FUTURE IN OUR HANDS
ADIDAS
Adidas is taking precise steps toward a plastic-free future:
- Collaboration with Parley for the Oceans - products created with Parley Ocean Plastic come from recycled waste collected from remote islands and coastal towns
Made to be remade - use as long as you want, then return - Adidas will repurpose the used product into something new
By 2025, 9 out of 10 Adidas-branded items will use eco-friendly technologies, materials, design systems or production methods. This is a global change that cannot be ignored!
Local community
WE SUPPORT CULTURURE
Since 2018, we have been the official sponsor of the New Horizons International Film Festival - a festival of uncompromising artists walking their path. The festival's selection is dominated by world trend-setting items - those that break the form, arouse deep discussions, and evoke emotions. Lasting 11 days, the cinema festival is a unique opportunity to discover premiere positions and carefully prepared thematic sections. It is also a unique, important event on the map of Wroclaw for its residents. We are happy to be a part of it and actively participate in the cultural life of the city!
WE PROMOTE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE
Wrocław Fashion Outlet is also a multiple sponsor of sporting events held in Wrocław - such as the H2O Half Marathon or the Wrocławska Dycha run. As the title sponsor of the half-marathon, we have become involved in the organization of the event on many levels - organizing free trainings before the half-marathon, providing starter packages for our customers or funding prizes for the best runners!
EDUCATING THE YOUNGEST
The educational project "Discover the Superpowers of the Park" was carried out in collaboration with the Wrocław Greenery Board. The initiative aims to introduce the youngest residents of Wrocław to the importance of places where nature takes center stage in urban life. While exploring the trail in Tysiąclecia Park, children can search for key words on boards to solve a specially designed crossword puzzle. After finding the final word, they can collect educational booklets at the Information Point in Wrocław Fashion Outlet.
GIVE, GAIN, SUPPORT
This year, as part of the "Give, Gain, Support" campaign, we promoted circular fashion and supported the EKOSTRAŻ Animal Protection Association. We encouraged our center's visitors to donate used clothing, rewarding them with a 30 PLN gift card and donating the same amount to EKOSTRAŻ. Over 300 of our visitors actively participated in this campaign, resulting in a donation of 9,120 PLN to EKOSTRAŻ! The collected clothing was reintroduced into circulation thanks to the Eco Textil Foundation.
CHARITY MARATHON
In June, we organized a charity Zumba® marathon on the beach at Wrocław Fashion Outlet. To participate in this event, attendees were required to make a donation to the Wrocław-based Potrafię Pomóc Foundation.
BIKE SERVICE FOR CHILDREN
In March 2022, we launched the first WROwerowy Serwis dla Dzieci campaign, where, with the help of our customers, we managed to collectively donate as many as 33 bicycles to the wards of the Siemacha Children's Home in Wroclaw!
We know how important it is to educate the youngest, which is why as part of the WROwerowy Service, we prepared a mobile cycling town where children could practice riding under the supervision of an instructor and test their skills in specially designed activities.
ECO HOLIDAYS!
Christmas is one of the periods of the year when plastic consumption increases rapidly. That's why we add our brick to the needed changes - every year at Wroclaw Fashion Outlet we wrap Christmas gifts for our customers using only eco-friendly, natural materials!
EDUCATION OF THE YOUNGEST
There are dates in the calendar that are particularly important for our youngest visitors - such as Santa Claus or Children's Day. For years, we have been focusing on fun through education then, not forgetting the ecological aspect - we have been teaching children how to make ecological ornaments and key rings, how to give clothes a second life by personalizing them, or how to make plushies from natural materials on their own!
PRIDE MONTH
During Pride Month, we organized a special exhibition titled "Be Proud. Be Yourself." It showcased the works of nine artists from the nine countries where Fashion Outlet centers are located - each artist shared their personal story related to Pride. In addition to the exhibition, we set up an educational station where visitors could learn about the meaning of each color and shape on the Progress Pride Flag, which encompasses various LGBTQIA+ flags.
This year, we supported the organization Kultura Równości by donating 2,000 PLN.
SWPS DESIGN EXHIBITION
In October 2023, we held an exhibition of works by students of the Department of Graphic Design at SWPS University. The projects were prepared in cooperation with organizations in close proximity, in the spirit of social responsibility.
